The gardens shown have been designed and created to complement the spirit of the place in which they are located.

They range from plots in towns and villages - with neighbouring gardens and structures accommodated in the design, to plots of an acre or more - looking on to fields and countryside. The owners wanted to develop their gardens to include features of their choice, whilst still keeping the feeling of the area in which they live.

A mature cedar tree was the key to the design in one garden, with flowing beds and lawns created around it, and planting designed to connect with planting in adjacent gardens - giving the effect of ‘borrowed landscape’, making the garden feel larger and blending it with the surroundings.

In another garden, an overgrown boggy area has been transformed into a pond with a walkway, whilst still leaving areas of shallow water and bog for wildlife.

Patios and sitting areas have been created, sometimes looking over the garden, sometimes sheltered by a tree or a courtyard, with planting giving interest in form and colour.
